Q:

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO ELIMINATE DOUBLE RUNWAYS AND NAVAIDS AFTER INSTALLING THE CALIFORNIA EXPANSION PACK OVER FS98?

A:

Not sure this is the only way, but one is to create a small exclude file for each airport. Think Ian or someone mentioned having an exclude file utility some time back. If my memory turns out to be as rusty as the rest of me, there are also scenery makers that create exclude files as well. Airport 2.02 is freeware (available at this site) so you may want to try that. But I'm personally familiar only with Abacus's ASD program, which costs $30 - 50 - but I can testify that exclude files made with that do work. I would guess, however, that you'd have to remove the SoCal pack first, exclude the default airport, then reinstall SoCal and hope the exclude does not also mask the SoCal airport. In other words, if this is important enough to you to shell out up to $50, be sure you get it from a store that will allow you to return it.
