14.16 How do I recover from a spin?
From FlightSim
In some light aircraft (Cessna 152/172, for example) the aircraft can recover itself before the spin is fully developed (first turn or two) if you release the controls. Some aircraft ALWAYS require positive action. In any case, recovery is quicker with a positive action and, if you don't have gobs of altitude, is the only real choice. The actual standard recovery technique (note that there are some aircraft for which this does not work) is:
- power to idle, if it is not already.
- rudder opposite the direction of spin.
- As rotation stops, neutral rudder and positive forward pressure (don't be timid here).
- gently recover from the resulting dive with gentle back pressure.
You can get quite a G-load here if you're not careful. Too much too soon can also result in a secondary stall and potentially a spin again.

How to recover from a Spin in a Bonanza?
Note this entry from the manual for the F-33A Bonanza:
Spins are prohibited. If a spin is entered inadvertently: Immediately move the control column full forward and simultaneously apply full rudder opposite to the direction of the spin; continue to hold this control position until rotation stops and then neutralize all controls and execute a smooth pullout. Ailerons should be neutral and throttle in idle position at all times during recovery.
