5.42 How do I line up with the runway at the destination airport?

One thing you can do mentally -- runway numbers are magnetic heading truncated to the nearest 10 degrees so, for example, runway 2/20 is approximately 020 degrees heading in one direction and approximately 200 degrees in the other direction. If you know your current position in relation to the airport and your current heading then, with practice, you can learn to visualize roughly how to line up, fine-tuning once you can actually see the runway.

Seems like Nav 1.8 gets recommended for several reasons. This is another reason. With it you can zoom in on an airport and it will show you the runway locations, alignments, ILS frequencies, etc. It won't show taxiways or anything like that, but it will give you what you are looking for. And you can print the picture also. It is available at this site... I think it is nav18.zip.
