The Monster 3D is a 3D accelerator designed to make games with support for 3D effects run smoother and appeal to your eyes a lot more. It is designed by Diamond, and it has a chip on it called the Voodoo, which is made by a company called 3DFX. Before I got mine, FS98 just wouldn't run well. I had a 300 MHz machine with a Matrox Millennium II AGP video card with 8 Mb of onboard memory. I added a Monster to it, and my gaming life changed. The graphics in FS98 improved a lot, but not as much as I expected. The graphics look much smoother now as the blockiness has disappeared. The frame rates improve a lot too! Before in very dense scenery I got about 5 fps. Now I get about 20-30!
