7.9 Why do I have a blue line on the horizon with my Mystique video card?
From FlightSim
Q:
I HAVE THE MYSTIQUE 220, AND IF I DO THAT I GET THE "BLUE LINE" ON MY HORIZON. DO YOU? I'VE ALSO GOT THE LATEST DRIVERS.
A:
In one of the "readme" files that comes with FS98, it makes mention of the fact that the Mystique does not support mip-mapping or texture-mapping in 3D mode, and does not allow the haze effect.

Apparently, it's a limitation of the card's design, and not something
which can be corrected in software.

That's kind of what I gathered from Bob S. I wasn't sure, and I
probably should have asked him for sure, if it was the hardware or
the software. Do you know if the Monster will work with a card like
the Mystique?
Aaron
Aaron, I'm sure I've seen posts on here from people using the Monster
with the Mystique and getting good results. According to Christine
the Mystique is one of the better 2d cards. I'm using one and am
very happy with it. It's labeled 3d, but I guess it was a "first
generation" 3d card without all the 3d capabilities that the newer
cards have. I fly 2d with texture smoothing and haze and I like the
view it gives me.
To eliminate the blue line, or a gray line, on the horizon, download and install newhaz20.zip from this site. It works wonders!
