Best rate of climb speed

At some Indicated AirSpeed, the aircraft will achieve the best balance between propulsion efficiency and drag, thus providing the speed with the most power left over for climbing. This is the best rate of climb speed (sometimes called Vy). It is usually also very near the best glide speed.
