YANK AND BANK: Military jargon for agressive use of stick and rudder. May also be called "turn and burn" depending on whether the aircraft has afterburners.
YAW: Producing an aerodynamic force that rotates the airplane around the vertical axis is referred to as yaw. This is done by applying pressure to the rudder pedals.
YAW DAMPER: A control system for automatically applying steadying rudder inputs in turbulent air.
YOKE: The control column of a civil or military transport aircraft.
