Hi,
Just got x-plane from Local Wal Mart store and downloaded the big
upgrade to 5.65. Things working ok so far. Got my Microsoft
Pro Force feedback stick all set up rudder and trottle working
ok. I have been away from Fligh sims for about two years just
getting going again. Got me a new Pc last Dec A custom made
Duron 800 with 256 ram and a Asus geforce2 GTS AGP V7700 with
32 MG ram. So my frame rates looking ok. Also have FS 2000 standard set up. I like to fly out from Local Airports here in
Southwest In, Don't see able to find very many In, airports?
Was Flying for Virual Northwest airlines out Detroit with FS 98
but have been flying European Air war WW2 planes but I like to
fly turoprops but I am back flying Cessana 172 in FS 2000 having
fun flying local around my area. I am retired age 64. was in
Navy Avaition branch So I have all ways loved Airplanes.
X Plane sure has some good weather effects. So I just learning
about sim.
Well that's my two cents.

Lane,

I too recently purchased X-plane. (about a month ago). I also own FS2000 standard and have been trying hard not to compare both sims, kind of like apples and oranges. I have been flight simming for about 2 years now. Also, living in southern IN, I was slightly disappointed at the lack of airports and airfields in X-plane. FS2000 surprised me with the fact that a local airfield in my former hometown was on the map. But, at the same time, I have been searching the net for plates for my new home airport for about a year, with no luck. I go to wal-mart and buy X-plane, and lo and behold, there they are. Frame rates are no problem in X-plane for me. I have an AMD Duron 700Mhz, 128M ram and 3dfx voodoo3 2000 card with 16M ram. However, FS2000 still gives me headaches from time to time when flying in add on scenery or with real world weather and heavy cloud cover.
I am 26, married, and plan to attend VU and study aviation flight when my wife graduates this fall. I orignally purchased FS2000 to get a head start on my aviation career, but my love for this hobby has grown enormously. It's great to know that I'm not the only one within a few hundred miles that enjoys flight sims.

Good flying,

I also enjoy flying turboprop planes. Regional jets are also a favorite. My favorite flight at this point is the Comair route from KEVV, Evansville, to KCVG, Cincinatti in the CRJ-100. I also enjoy flying the TWExpress Jetstream 31 (my all-time favorite plane to fly). Owning the standard edition of FS2k, I did not originally have the Beech King Air 350, so when I first flew the J31 I was in awe.
From time to time I fly on the Internet Gaming Zone. My call sign is N122VU. This was the registration of the plane my wife and I got to fly in during open house at VU Aviation (An American General/Grumman AA-5B Tiger) , which was a special time that I will never forget. It was the moment I had waited for. I knew, even though I had flown on TWA (DC9-30), that if I flew in a light plane, I would be hooked. And the rest is history.
Hope to see you in the skies.
