Add the following to the SCENERY section of your fsx.cfg file:

// Alert missing objects
MissingLibraryAlert=1

// Alert missing textures
ShowMissingTextureAlert=1

You'll now get a dialog prompt identifying any missing textures or objects.

...........

I added that entry to the fsx.cfg and nothing happened?
Where will this dialog prompt be displayed?

I've cleaned and checked all connections.
This problem is with all aircraft and FSX is completely unusable.

I don't think it's heat because it also does it when I've first started
the computer.

Maybe the video card is going bad?

Hi Folks

JB -
If you've added the text into the correct section and fsx.CFG,
the dialog will display centre-screen
but only if there is a missing file.

You need to look at the other issues identified in my o/p.

Your screenies' underlying terrain textures appear blurry.

Please try loading an MS default aircraft at a remote location.
e.g. EGPW Unst (Scotland)

Does the issue still occur ?

If not -
Your sliders were too high for the location you were attempting to fly.

If so -
in the FSX GUI config settings
click the "Reset Defaults" button.

That'll reset your settings
to the available resources
when you launched the current FSX session.

Does the issue still occur ?

If that fixes it,
then your sliders were set too high.

I fixed it!!!

First, I want to thank you Sir for offering solutions and steering me in the
right direction. I couldn't have fixed this problem without your assistance.
Guys like you make this forum the remarkable depository of information that
it is. Thank You!

I tried every recommended solution without success.
Then I remembered that I had previously been experimenting with moving
the [BufferPools] tweak higher and higher, trying to smooth out the jerks
I get in some high density areas.

I reset the [BufferPools] section back to it's original position, before I messed
with it, and the problem cleared up. I then tested it at several settings and
sure enough that was the problem.

Thank You again!!!!

Hi Folks

JB
Congratulations.
No worries whatsoever.

All credit to yourself,
for recognizing the mis-applied tweak,
and cheers for prompting me
that I should place more emphasis on
Quote:
- overly-high slider settings
i.e. let FSX rebuild your config.

Happy flying.

Default About BP

jbntx,
Just so you know you're not the only one who tried to 'force' FSX to accept Buffer Pools. I read somewhere (NickN?) that with SP2 you do NOT use Buffer Pools (but I tried (hehe) all to no avail. Here is chronology from my FSX cfg:

//[BufferPools] //NOT NEEDED with SP2 //Commented out, 08Sept19
//PoolSize=1000000 //commented out 09Apr08
//PoolSize=40000000 //changed 09Mar21:5:50am
//PoolSize=25000000 //retry 09Mar17 //changed 09Mar10:1am:no change
//PoolSize=15000000 //stutters09Mar17 //changed back 09Mar12:1am
//PoolSize=0 //changed 09Mar11:10pm:no change
//PoolSize=10000000 //DEFAULT //changed 09Feb25
//PoolSize=800000 //comment out 09Aug11 //changed 09Juy15-experiment
//PoolSize=5000000 // 1 more time-09Sept15 (IN=17.9 to 19.9 fps)

Hi Folks

Chuck -
Good to see others similarly commenting and retaining settings.

You've reminded me
I must clean out my fsx.CFG.

Just looked and there's 589 lines
of Procspeed/Perfbucket scenario testing comments.
