Is there any body working on a GP20 Low Nose Like for the Santa Fe Or Burlington Northern?

I agree on the GP20s. I have really been anxiously awaiting the GN and WP high nose units. The Santa Fe low nose versions would be nice as well. Also, Burlington Northern repainted the GN varsions into their livery. When these came out they were the hot train locomotives. Put four in front of 35-40 reefers, and you had a real priority train. This is part of my favorite period. Hope we get these soon.
Thanks,
Bob

I got bad new for you. I will not be doing any more work on the high nose GP20s until there is a way to open the TSM files in 3dc. Once I switched over to 3dc there was no going back, not even to finish up old projects.

Say do you have any drawings on that engine? If you do could you send it on over.

Best,

Roger,
my granddad has a Model Railroader book put out by Kalmbach. It's called "Diesel Locomotives" I'll look next time I'm there or have him bring it to me at church tonight.

Say, WP, I'll take over that GP20 project if it's in TSM!!!! Send me a message to my inbox here on the forum, and I'll send you my email!

Kurt :-)

I'll be sending the files out some time soon to Nalle13, naturally he'll want to finish it up with WP details, would you be interested in doing the GN version (the only other railroad to order high nose 20s). I'll go ahead and send you the file when I get around to sending it to Nalle (don't get too anxious, I procrastinate a lot on some of these things.)

Sounds good to me. When you get the drawing send it on over.

Roger

Don't forget, the GN version will be useable in 2 liveries, GN and Burlington Northern.

i have moved it all over the grid but still that hasn't helped.
when done i will also be looking for someone to help me skin it.

1. Put locomotive where it should be on grid, wheels touching brown line.

2. Center all part axis' to the origin (go to toolbar in TSM > Part > Center Axis > To Origin )

3. Center the wheel and truck's axis to OBJECT. (go to toolbar in TSM > Part > Center Axis > To Object )

4. Export to sim

Say, have you given all parts parents too? And have you thought about tapering down how much the hood ends are pointed?

Kurt.

thanks for the info. that worked great.
haven't done anything about the nose yet but the actual unit i am getting my info from does have a tapered nose so i will change it. still more work to be done but hope to have it done soon.

Glad to hear you were successfull in getting your model on the tracks!

Say, when you are done, would it be too much trouble for you to send me the .dst editing file for it? I've been wanting to do an ICG GP10 for a while now. My email is cudak888@aol.com

We need more first generation geeps...especially a set that is interchangable (based on the same model)

Take care!

Kurt

Like this?

http://www.3dtrains.com/screens/GP20a.jpg

Since the one I did last year for LTV can't be redistributed (Abacus now owns it), I decided to completely retool - this is something that's been in the works for a couple of weeks.

Sorry, I'm not trying to step on your toes.

Cheers!

Don't worry about stepping on toes Hack. far as i am concerned there is plenty of room for more than one model.

Thanks. With yours, two of mine, and at least one other I know of, that makes 4. Anyone else (olie-olie-oxen-free). :)
