As always, great work. You are extremely talented. I've enjoyed your work on the P40 genesis series and other projects.
By the way, how is the UP steam engine coming? Haven't seen any progress shots in awhile.
Still dreaming of a C&O Allegehny steam engine if anyone would want to tackle it.
Suggestion to reskinners when this comes out, as I lack the talent, time and tools required to do one myself:
E-6 in SAL (Citrus scheme), ACL (Champion), SCL
E-7 ACL, SAL (pale green), SCL
E-8 SAL (pale green scheme), ACL, C&O, SR (Crescent)
Again, thanks for all the great work Jens-Chris and NALW, and also all the other people involved in making this simulation a very enjoyable pastime.

Hi Jens-Chris,
Excellent work, as always.
An E5 would be really great!
I am tempted to skin a CB&Q E7, when they come out. That is, if you guys don't already have one in the works.

Great as always Jens-Chris! The Southern version is particularly classy. Now all we need is some Southern cars to go with it. How about an SP version in Daylight scheme? That would be a nice one to add to the collection too.

Excellent work Jens-Chris.
That E-6 will look superb in several road colour schemes :-)
I've been waiting patiently for ages for someone to do a shovelnose E-unit. An E-3 and EA would complete the set nicely :-)

The E-3 looks almost exactly like the E-4 and E-6, so it would be a reskinning...
Ok, perhaps, I'll do an E-3, too, but which RR livery ??
Votes please, I don't know which RRs had E-3s...
But what is an EA ?
Thanks for the comments, you're keeping my working !! :-)

The EA was the first of the E series, and differed from the later E's by having a faired in headlight (see below).
http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cf722151abc5fd6.jpg
B&O EA no 51, preserved at the B&O Railroad Museum.
http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cf722b71d0210e4.jpg
Santa Fe EA no 7.
My votes for further colour schemes for your shovelnose E would be as follows.
http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cf723ff1f9c107a.jpg
Rock Island E-6 no 630, pictured at an EMD Open House at LaGrange in 1972. This was one of the last shovelnoses in passenger service, and is now preserved in an earlier colour scheme.
http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cf725632204b6ed.jpg
Louisville & Nashville E-6 no 770, preserved at the Kentucky Railway Museum.
http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cf725c222e1751b.jpg
http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cf7267d2407842d.jpg
Atlantic Coast Lines E-3 no 501, preserved at the North Carolina Transportation Museum.
http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cf7280726422a96.jpg
Santa Fe E-3 no 11.
http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cf7288f2718dee5.jpg
And finally last, but not least, Southern Railway E-6 no 2800 in a later colour scheme to the one you've already done.
Keep up the good work Jens-Chris. We always look forward to any of your new releases with great anticipation.
Regards,
Shovelnose

Wow, all I can say is awesome JensChris. I love your work. Hopefully someone will reskin one of those into Pennsylvania Railroad livery to go with the Broadway Limited cars that are available. Keep up the great work and I will patiently await the release of those E units as well as your Big Boy that you are making. I am really looking forward to both, thanks for all the great trains to run in MSTS.

I have seen Alantic Coast Line E-3 501. See lives only a couple miles from my house. Serious! She is also the road diesel with the MOST miles clocked in by any diesel in the world. Think about that.

Check you photos there. I think the Santa Fe EA is actually an E1. Only B&O got EAs. (Jeff Wilson, "Classic Trains, E-Units Electro Motives Classic Streamliners", pg 7.
Not that it matters really since they look alike, sound alike.

You're probably correct Gary. Unfortunately I don't have access to any reference books, such as you describe, due to being on the wrong side of the 'pond' :-(
My information is only gleaned from the sites where I found these pictures. Sometimes such information can be a bit contradictory when the image is on more than one site.
My enthusiasm for such slant-nose units stems from my few visits to the USA over the years, when I've had the privelege to see F's and E's in passenger service, and also in some of your museums.

No problem.
Check for F Units and E Units published by Kalmbach Publishers. I found them at amazon.com so you might be able to get a copy "over the pond" there. I think they are rather recent books (published in 2000?).
Also try http://books.kalmbach.com

Hey Adam and list,
That unit was in the WSOR roundhouse for many years in Jaesville,WI before its previous owner, Glenn Monhart passed away. It was really neat to get up inside her and imagine her traveling at 100 MPH. I had many oppertunities to see her, as I was a conductor for the 'Whizzer' and I was in the roundhouse on a daily basis. I also remember it on fan trips in the 80's in Rockford.
