The J is coming along slowly but surely. There are a couple of things to add and a couple of things to redo. I am trying to make the drive wheels transparent so that you can see through the open areas of the wheel texture, but I haven't had much luck (that and I am not totally sure how to do it in TSM) http://forums.flightsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d04bb425ff8d8f1.jpg

I also discovered an easy way to do almost perfect animations, Use screen captures while in the animate function and paste them in order in Word and then refer back to them to get the perfect placement when animating rods, it uses a lot of memory but it works.

Nice work. Another one of my favorite engines. Including the 1218. You have E-Mail.

The number on this side of the locomotive is backwards.

Transparencies should be easy. In TSM, simply select the part (dtiving wheel), hit F2 and select the material type. It should be changed to 'transnorm'. Doing this, you then make sure the wheel texture has an alpha channel. If you want to send it to me, just the .ace that has the wheel texture on it, I'll be happy to do it for you. I'm at msa_vianney@hotmail.com
All the best, nice work (and I'm an electric traction guy!)

Wow, that is one beautiful locomotive. I can't wait till it is completed. Matt, if you help him with making the wheel's transparent maybe you could also help him make the windows in the cab transparent as well. I would imagine it would be the same or a very similar process for doing this and it could probably save him alot of time and effort. Just a thought. Anyway, good luck on this project and I will be patiently waiting to see this locomotive available for download so I can run it in Train Simulator.

I saw the old 611 long time ago back in like 1980's in Ky. I was standing about 3 ft away from it while it was moving and that i can say IT WAS AWESOME. That is the last time i ever saw it :( I am looking forword downloading the 611 for MSTS plus the Daylight & The Big Boy. I am not sure if the Daylight is out yet but if it is can some one email me at albertpowers28@hotmail.com and give me the link so i can download it and start ridding along
. Im not sure who is making the 611 but are you going to do the passenger cars to and make it a complete train set?
Thanks

I am also very interested in the 611. I was around it on a regular basis from Sept 1982 through 1992. One suggestion for the wheels would be to make the areas between the spokes a slightly lighter shade of black so the spokes are still visible. I do not remember being able to "see" through the spokes. I believe the spokes were larger than the open areas between. Ohterwise, your 611 looks great. I will continue to watch for the release. The last four digits of my telephone number are 0611. It helps that I work for the telephone company and that the number was available in 1985!!
