I downloaded the SD-60F and the 4 window cab, CN of course, and I want to alias the sounds to the 3d trains sd-70m. I love those sounds. How would I do this?

What I did was create a folder in the Common.snd one called SD70. I copied the files from 3D's to it, do not copy the folder only the files. I then changed the sms line to look like this:

..\\..\\Common.snd\\sd70\\sd70cab.sms
and
..\\..\\Common.snd\\sd70\\sd70eng.sms

You can also do this with the cabview, create the sd70 folder in the common.cab one and change the cvf line to:

..\\..\\Common.cab\\sd70\\sd70.cvf

The method I use is to alias with Conbuilder , has always been quick and easy for those of us not as smart as others :-)

Actually I am more comfortable editing the eng files than relying on Conbuilder to do this for me. It gives me more control on what I am aliasing to and I am not quite sure how CB handles aliasing to cvf amd sms files not in a engine folder.
