I've found that one of the things that's most fun is to go out to the local train yard, take a digital picture, and then make a new boxcar.

Nels has already posted a few skins at http://forums.flightsim.com/msts/download.htm , and I'll be soon posting my own page as well. All public domain. Use in whatever way you would like.

Feel free to ask questions, or post new skins here in this forum. Thanks! This is going to be a fun hobby!

Make anything you like as long as it's Conrail! Seriously, the United States has trains on the East Coast too. CSX, NS, Central R.R. of New Jersey, Penn Central ( easy color, that one )Erie-Lackawana, Morristown and Erie............I'll download anything, and once I figure out skins, I'll contribute as well.
LET'S DO IT!!!

It's just a matter of finding suitable cars to photograph. I'm on the east coast so I balance Robert's left coast tendencies :-) You'll already find a Boston & Maine box car in the group that I've done and that's about as east coast as you can get.

Of course you have to take what you can get...on my last visit to the local rail yard the most common car type was...BNSF. Yes, the same company that's the default for Train-Sim. I figured we didn't need any more of those though.

The nice thing about this is that it's easy enough for a lot of people to do so just about everyone will be able to get their own favorites.

I will only use my own digital photographs in my efforts, which means I have to see it to take a picture of it first. Since the Santa Clara yard (see my writeup of that at http://scobleizer.manilasites.com today) is pretty low-traffic, that means I don't have that many choices.

All we need is good photos of boxcars from a straight-on side view. Other livery will be tougher.

Hi!

Is it possible yet for us to upload files to this site? If Amfleet cars in the release look like they do in the press beta, I WILL have a couple of repaints by tomorrow night to make them look a bit better, as well as one for the newer paint scheme.

We don't have a separate place to do uploads yet, but if you upload them to the FlightSim.Com upload site I'll make sure they end up here. We've almost got the full file library software installed; should be ready to go tomorrow.

For information on uploading, go here:

Ok, Thanks!

Now that i'm thinking about it, it may be a couple of days before i get some repaints done - after all, i do actually want to play this sim!
