I have tired all night to change the ENG files of the new locos with new skins. I have done it just like you said nels by changing the name, wagon, wagon name and engine just liek you said in the readme file. The only prob is I always get the messige that TS can't read the eng file. What does that mean and how can i fix it. It sounds like something is wrong with the ENG file but what?

I can't figure it out after all this time

Helpp pleezeeeeeeeee

What are you using to edit the text document? Make sure your only using wordpad. And make sure you SAVE AS Unicode Text document.

i am using only word pad and when I save i just click on save so in theory it should be saving as a eng file

I will try saving it differently when i get back to work on it

If i get it to work i would glady share the files with everyone

LAST EDITED ON Jun-08-01 AT 05:00AM (EST)[p]Hello,

There are a couple of spots in the ENG file that reference the skins, anything that in parenthesis says (GP38) or (gp38) except the SOUND and CABVIEW reference you need to change to your particular ENG file name and then make sure the *.ENG *.S and *.SD files all have the same name in place of the *.

Example

MYTRAIN.ENG
MYTRAIN.S
MYTRAIN.SD

This way the ENG file knows what to use and will reference same.

Look for these lines in your ENG file and change them

1st line-------------->Wagon ( gp38

Next line after the lights section-------->Engine ( gp38

Alittle furthur down---------------->Wagon ( gp38 )

Also so the car or engine shows up as a seperate name change the
line after SOUND to individually name your piece.

After SOUND line--------------------->Name ("GP38-2")

This should fix it so your item shows up and has an idividual name.

hope this solves it for ya,

Based on what I see here so far, this is more complex than it needs to be. Somebody who understands this stuff should write a util... :-)
