Hey guys,

I thought that I'd give a go a making a skin for MSTS. Well this is the first of 2 Missouri Pacific GP38's that I'm making. Just finished it 20 minutes ago.

This particular model is in fact a real loco with real road number. I used real photographs and mapped them to the model with very good results. I think you'll agree.

I also plan on making and SD-40 with the White eagle logo on the side. Due to MS texture mapping problems I might not be able to do it. We'll see.

The other GP38 will be available sometime in the next few days.

BTW How do I upload this loco to http://forums.flightsim.com so that everyone can get it?

Have a peek and tell me what you think!

Very nice.I guess the key is finding a paint job that works well wih Kuju's model.

Woody:

When will the MoPac be ready for D/L?

Well, I tried to send it up last night and my ISP decided to pull the plug for a much needed upgrade. I checked my cable modem connection this morning and it was still dead but now it's flying.

I just sent it up to Nels so as soon as he gets it posted it'll be on forums.flightsim.com

BTW....That is the exact photo that was used to create this model along with others for the back and front shots of course. there is a small duplication problem on the right side of the engine where the MP logo sits under the cab. I'll try and adress this issue in the next release.

You're lucky you had such a good photo to work with. Nice!

If you want to upload files instead of emailing them, upload them to FlightSim.Com. Since I run both sites I'll get them there. For information on uploading, please see:

Woody:

Great job--have it runnin'!! How hard would it be to put Missouri Pacific on the side?

Thx for the efforts!!

It shouldn't say Missouri Pacific on the side except for under the cab window in the herald. The only discrepancy is one that can't be helped because of the model itself:dynamic brakes. The real thing doesn't have them.Regardless,it's a sweet engine and I'm looking forward to the SD-40.Thanks Woody!

Later MoPac SD40-2's had dynamic brakes and were to be used on run through trains:
