MakeACE won't work!!! Help!

I can't get the MakeACE util to work! What's wrong?

Went to DOS and went to my new train directory.
Wanted to convert new bitmap and targa files to ACE files.
Followed the instructions.

D:\Train Simulator\TRAINS\TRAINSET\mytrainfolder\

TYPED IN:

MakeACE myfile.bmp us2gp38col1.ace

and hit ENTER.
BAD COMMAND OR FILE NAME

I don't know what is wrong. Didn't convert at all for the bitmap or the targa.

THEN I copied makeace.exe directly into the directory I am working from.

AGAIN TYPED IN:

MakeACE myfile.bmp us2gp38col1.ace

AND GOT:

FAILED TO INITIALIZE MAKEACE UTILITY, UNEXPECTED ERROR

What am I doing wrong?!

I have not used this yet but it sounds like the makeace program file is not in the folder you are in. Check and see if its in the main train sim folder copy it to your other folder and it should work fine.

Sorry just read the rest of the your post, there may be other files connected with the program. To rule out other problems try running the program and file you want to convert from the main train sim folder. If it works then you will have to find which files are connected with the program or you could open your autoexec.bat file and add D:\Train Simulator to the path statement. After this save it and reboot and then you can run the program from anywhere.
