Greetings peeps...

Having great fun with TS! When I bought it, I spent 6 hours straight playing with it....it's very good for a first version.

Now the question. I was finally able to lay the terrain, mark the boxes, start the route editor. I decided to start my dream route...Philly to Chicago. I have a 30 GIG drive so space is no problem. The route that I chose has the red lines ..meaning it a recognized route in the route editor. The problem is...when I start at the defined "square", I have no way of telling when to turn this way or that. I read that the editor was suppose to have vectoring. Meaning that it would show you when to make turns and the like while laying track. However I don't see any indication of this feature. Anyone know when it is or if it exist? I have learned to lay track, and objects, and the like as well as delete them. It's great!! I know that laying this route will take time but hey.......that's all I got ...is time. If I do about 10 miles a day.....it should be basically finished in a month. If anyone knows about this "vectoring"....please reply.

Thanks

Jerry

Can't help you on vectoring but I have a question. The red lines for existing routes, does that show up in your squares. I don't see it in mine. Also, how do you move forward/backwards or left/right. I'm in the center of my square laying track off in the distance, how do I get closer to my track. Thanks for your help.

If you are looking at the terrain at an angle to where your track runs off in the distance then you can use the arrow keys to scroll forward, backward, left & right. If you rotate the view to where you are looking straight down then use ctrl + the up/down arrow to scroll forward/backward.

No, the red lines do not show up. But markers do. I you have any third party data on the route then you can use that as a source. The markers tell you where the cities and track are. It's like connecting the dots. That's how you lay the track based on the predefines routes.
