I use the RGE to create a new route. I do like they say in the help file and when I load it into the Route Editor all I get is flat terrain?
How do I get it to make the terrain like in the real world?

I think Microsoft may know something that they are not telling us. I hope it is good, so we can get fair decent tracks, since we pay a high price for the game!

The fact is that there is no elevation data shipped with MSTS. Actually, the only thing the Geography Extractor is good for is spitting out the longitude & lattitude values for those who wish to model a real-life route.
Sorry

OK I am new at this too but have created scenery for MSFS.
I have created a route for Norther BC using the Extrusion mode and have the route but no markers show up nor can I see any place to add them in either the quad tree mode of the extrusion screen or anywhere in the route editor.
Are these markers included with the US data?
How can I add them?
Also in particular reference to this message, of course I get a flat terrain as well. .
How do I add elevations and features like coastlines, rivers etc?
All help appreciated.

anyone here ever hear of DEM, do a search for DEM and you'll get tuns and tuns of Topics on this and many useful Programs to help along the way (This is if you want Real Terrain in your route) and the Processes is not easy at first but after a while of working with it it's pretty much second Nature here is a quick link to a Very useful site on DEM and terrain for that matter..
