Name of Route: Denver & Rio Grande Western Cumbres Pass

Version and Release Date: 2.0, January 15, 2004

Description: This is the XTracks narrow gauge version of the route taken by the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad over Cumbres Pass in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico. It is the route of the modern-day Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad that runs between Antonito, Colorado and Chama, New Mexico. The actual C&TSRR is a 3-foot narrow gauge line, one of the remnants of the D&RGW narrow gauge empire that ruled the Colorado mountains during the gold and silver mining days of the late 1800s. The C&TSRR climbs from Chama (7860 ft) along 4% grades to the summit at Cumbres (10,015 ft) in only 14 miles, then back down to 7888 ft at Antonito, another 49 miles down the track. Numerous custom structures and textures along the route. Narrow gauge GRAMPS tank car included with route.
