Name of route - Cajon Pass Route

Version - Version 1.0, August 2002

Description - The route consist of 3 lines traversing the famous and challanging Cajon Pass in Southern Ca. The Santa Fe was the first in Cajon Pass in 1885, with a 3% grade. In the early 1900's, a second line was added, which was slightly longer and added 2 tunnels while deverging away from the original line for short periods. The SP was a late comer, arriving in the late 1960's to build the Palmdale Cutoff which allowed SP trains traveling to and from Central Ca. and the Pacific Northwest to bypass downtown LA. Route consist of 3 lines that form a large circle, extending from Mojave to Barstow(BNSF), then south to San Bernardino(BNSF), west to Colton(SP), and north to Mojave(SP)

Branches - none

Number of sidings - BNSF ex-ATSF main is doubled tracked from San Bernardino to Barstow, with about 5 or 6 passing sidings on line from Barstwo to Mojave. SP line is single tracked, with about 6 or 7 passing sidings from Colton to Mojave.

Yards - 5

Dual/single - about 50/50

Complete with scenery, however portions of the line from Mojave to Barstow do not contain much scenery becasue of the location in the desert.
