Name of Route: Denver South Park and Pacific Route

Version and Release Date: 04-10-2004 Version 4 route previously called Alpine Tunnel

Description (~100 words or less): The route starts in Breckenridge and then crosses the Boreas Pass at over 11,400 feet high. Then the route descends into Como at about 9400 feet high and crosses the great south park and then climbs the Trout Creek pass (where the Colorado Midland goes on an over pass above the South Park) at about 9600 feet high and then goes into the Arkansas River valley though the Box Canyon. At the end of the Box Canyon the line going north goes to Buena Vista and the line going south goes to on to Gunnison over the Alpine Tunnel pass at 11,612 feet high into Gunnison. At Gunnison this route features two branch lines going north the Baldwin branch of the DSP and PRR that later became C and S and the Creasted Butte/Floresta branch of the D and RG.
