I've had trouble getting AI trains headed up by U25B and SD45 with Eng. files by Chris Lee to operate as AI trains smoothly. They will start, hestitate, restart and then pause forever moving only haltingly. When I replace these two locos (both in EL livery) the trains functions properly as AI trains and respond correctly to the signaling. Any similar problems? Solutions? Is there something in the eng file that interferes with these locos when they run as AI trains?

Hi,
Some months ago, someone reported in this forum that the loco's that came with MSTS as non player loco's performed better as AI's.
I don't know the exact details from this posting. May be you can search for this.
What I remember was that it was wise to have an AI and a player version of a loco.
An example of an non player loco is the SD40.

Originally the sim came with two types of loco; driveable, used for player services, and non-driveable, used for traffic services as AI and helpers. It was quickly realised that non-driveables could be easily converted to driveables and it has become normal practice to only create driveable versions of new engines. However.... a number of people have found that there are advantages using non-drivable engines. Read here....
