Some time ago there was a plan (I think by Lnghairedwizrd, if thats his nickname) to post a list of 60 downloads so that he would release a batch of axctivities for EMRR, PO&N and possibly HBS. I have not heard anything regarding this project for a while has it taken back burner or something ?

He is still working on them, demands on his time have delayed these activities.

The list you refer to is for a large PennCentral/Conrail activity package. (16-20)activities for the East Metro, NEC & of course the Ohio & West Virginia route.

The package will feature Northeastern prototype rolling stock and be based in the late 1970's era. I had originally hoped to release this package in february before I started classes back up but they started me back about 3 weeks earlier than expected so I was only able to complete about half the activities.

I finish classes in mid april so hopefully late april or early may I will have it available...sorry for the delay, but be patient as I will definetly finish it as I love the PennCentral and Conrail.

In the meantime, I have started some Chessie system activities as a request from an actual engineer who had to retire from driving trains to be able to spend more time with his family and misses the railroads.

Since I have the week off from school I'm doin a Chessie activity pack of 4-5 activities...2 for the East metro & 2 or more for the Ohio & WestVirginia. This pack will require quite a few add-ons but most of the freight cars will also be featured on the Big PC/CR pack mentioned above, so this should make installing all the add-ons more "cost-effective" (for lack of better word!!!).

With this Chessie activity pack, I hope to raise the level of realism in activities up to a higher level with the help of Jason Roberts (the engineer I mentioned above). These activies will include realistic "Dispatcher calls" inplace of typical pop-ups & will include Heavy AI traffic and different types of meets along with a few suprises here and there and of course....realistic consists as opposed to BNSF consists using a pool of 2 engines and 10 or so freight cars...arhhggg

Here are some screen shots from the "EastMetro Chessie Manifest" activity....

I will also be doing a Eastmetro Coaltrain activity, A O&WV "Coke" train activity (you take ironmaking coke up to Zanesville) and then a "Steel mill duty" switching activity that picks up where the "Coke" train activity left off.

I hope to have this uploaded at least by the weekend after this one.

Hi, Longhair (um...can I call you longhair?), those screenshots of the Chessie activities look great, this engineer friend of yours is definatly going to be a happy man, and, for what it's worth, I think it's really pretty cool that 1) your doing this for a friend, and 2) you're going to share them with us.

I am really looking forward to the PC/CR stuff, since I grew up living right next to an old (unfortunatly long-abondoned) ex-New Haven subdivision in Brewster, New York.

Keep up the great work, and thanks in advance.

Hey, Joe (Whoa....Hendrix flashback....), looking forward to those PC engines!

Have any of you downloaded Encell's Hoboken Shore? In his readme are links to some of the railroads, one of them being Penn Central, I clicked on this link and was brought to what sure looked like a genuine PC web site, are they still in business in some form or another? I know that sounds like, well, I've been doing too much of what Jimi Hendrex used to do, but check it out....

Thanks in advance for the loco's

i believe penn central is in business still. i think they still owned some buildings or something. or maybe it was insurance. i do remember they changed the name of the company. they definetly aren't involved in railroading anymore.

Hi all

Thanks for the reply Longhairedwizard hope to see the list and activities soon keep up the good work, I awate your effort (I can appreciate time constraints).

Looking forward to the Penn Central stuff too would like to see a few more NYC skins sometime. TA's NYC Sharknose looks sweet hope it comes out soon but we need to see what distribution format they use.
