I was thinking..About that ESE vs. F7 race on the NEC..Have the fastest train from each type (steam, electric, 'turbine', hybrid, and diesel) racing each other along the entire length of the NEC; with various stops along the way..

My suggestions:
Empire State Express, the Eurostar, the recently added Class 180 "Adelante" UK Diesel; either the "Big Blow 8500 HP" train or the Penn. steam turbine; and the Green Goat..

Hauling cars is fun; but crashing them is even better.

Sounds wild! You make me think of an animated pictorial National Lampoon did eons ago in there mag of 'A Day at the Train Races'.
The artwork was superb - but seeing how you like 'crashing trains', I think you'd want these pictures framed then? ;-)
And of course, there's those old movies of Pennsy promos et al. Sharks lined up at the noses cruising down 5 or so leads in unison. And many railroads have shown off 'generation lines' on birthday occasions in the yard, from a 2-4-0 up to the Turbo. And like American movie musicals - they just don't do them anymore.

Bring us back the true meaning of Grease! ;-)

Don't forget the hand car!
