Maybe another Christmas present...
If you are tired of not being able to see out of the left hand side of the F45 then something like this might satisfy you more:

We'll see how we go for a release date.

Looks good, but it's the side view for a F40. The side windows are longer then the standard, which was used on the F45. BTW, can you send me your F45 cab? I'm not able to download anything from the file libary for some reason.

You are correct that I am building this view from several F40 pictures - there is still a dearth of source material for cabs around. I thought that something like this would be more useful than the current one even though it is 'F45-like' and 'F45-actual'. Perhaps you were more expecting it to look like this:

As I have linked the DDA40X LHS to the original F45 view, I really need to create a special one for that. Should look something like this:

This is what I had in mind:

(If you did not know, the Tri-Rail F40PHL-2s are shortened BN F45s on a GP40 chassis.) (The late BN cabs had the front side window plated over.)

Thanks, Kurt. I couldn't see the internal post between the front windows on the external photos of the TS model from Kevin, so joined the windows together. I suddenly remembered that Kevin posted a side view in an earlier post so now have grabbed that and will work from that. Unfortunately there is a bigger gap between the windows and door so either the front window has to go altogether (it has rounded corners, too) or the door might move out of view. Or I forget about it and just go with what looks good - LOL

OK, Chuck has uploaded the last version that I created, as I had wanted to get it uploaded before Christmas. This was based on the best view I could get at the time (until I remembered Kevin's post of the side elevation).
This is the reworked files:

I think that I'll leave the DDA40X file as is. I will amend the F45 and created the F40PHL based on these images if they look ok now. If a witch-hunt is declared on the file Chuck has uploaded I'll get this lot packaged and uploaded fairly quickly to replace it. Kurt, is the F40PHL uploaded yet? Have you included the blanked out window?

Looks great! I have not made the F40PHL-2 yet, as Chris Kucy has made the F45 in Tri-Rail's paint scheme, and I want to modify the F45, not make one up from scratch, but I need the F45 in Train Sim Modeler .dst format. BUT I DO WANT TO MAKE THE F40PHL-2!!!!!!
