Here are screenshots inside the cab of my 8600-class loco on the Hisatsu line. This project is just about complete -- the controls and displays are animated except for the water level indicators. It's really gratifying to watch the controls move smoothly (along with their shadows) and have the loco respond accordingly. Putting something like this together is fairly tedious, but not terribly difficult and well worth the time. Enjoy.

Beautiful work, fantastic looking cab, best I've seen.

Will you allow it to be used on other people's locos?

Don't let the computer WIN!

Hey Rick

That is a beautiful piece of work. Very realistic. Looking forward to adding it and the loco to my collection.

All,

Thanks much for your kind words.

After I do a little more tweaking, I'll upload this loco next weekend. Will post a message in this forum and in the locomotive design one when this happens. I still don't consider it to be "finished," but I suppose something like this never is.

I posted the screenshots because I soon have to go to Taiwan for a couple of months. That in itself is OK, but there's a big downside: The only computer I'll have is a company-issued p-of-s laptop, so no MSTS and no further development for a while.

Despite that drawback, I'll still have Internet access and would be glad to share techniques and lessons-learned with anyone.
