The soon to be released update of the 250 Ton Crane set will include a Cab view. It is not a “New” cab in that I simply did a past up of the GP38. Still it’s a lot better than sitting in the default GP Cab. The flatcar and boomcar will be completely new with 3d modeled bogies and other detail work. The crane itself will not change much, the wheels will now all turn and the trucks are now a little better than a picture on a flat board.

You know that the boom always trails, don't you?

Hi
Yes I do see them being hauled that way most of the time. I do include a Wag version with the set as well. I have recently been watching one go by fairly often, they are using it to help set the large parts of a replacement trestle that was recently failed or was damaged. It arrives each day with its boom car with a boom extension sitting on it. The extension is attached to the crane and the crane then picks up the boom car and sets it down behind itself before starting each day’s work. It looks like it is able to run about 20MPH at max. It has to shuttle back and forth about a mile to sit on a siding when not being used.

Do you know when you will be uploading this new version of your excellent crane?

Hi
I have been busy with alterations to the original SW1500 for several people and have been working hard on the “articulated 5 unit bulkhead well car set” I have also been working on the crane some, but still have much to do.
My wife is starting to get a little nasty about the amount of time I spend on this stuff, so I need to be careful not to get too many projects on the front burner.
How soon? Maybe 4 weeks or so. The well car set will probably be available in about two weeks. This set will not be for those with week systems (like mine) I may need to made a light version, with less detailed trucks.

Hey Mark I know what you mean there about the wife getting a little testy. I have had my hind end in hot water a few times for spending too much playing with trains she says. But what can we do? Some nights I came home ready to get on the computer to play rail road and looked at my honey and I knew I was'nt going to get no where near that computer or I would be sleeping on the couch for a while. (ha ha) Oh well got to make them happy too.. If we could only just get them to want to run trains too we would have it made or would we? (ha ha)

Mine does drive trains! Trust me it's far worse..... LOL ROFL
She drives my real trains sometimes and believe me she's a better driver than I am! which makes it all the more difficult to argue about things in MSTS!! ROFL good job we have more than one computer here, otherwise I'd never get to play at all!
