View Full Version : Cabview Problem

I hope someone can offer some assistance here. I have tried EVERYTHING (I think) to get the GP7 and GP9 cabviews to work. So far, the best I have gotten was mysterious floating needles with no cab!
I tried copying the alias test from the "readme" doc, I tried copying the *.cvf files and renaming them. I'm at my wits end here.
Any ideas would be most appreciated!

All of the new files should be ina folder called GP7 or GP9 in your ...\TRAINSET\Common.Cab path.
The alias file should be copied to the CABVIEW folder of the locomotive you want to add it to.
You then need to either rename the cvf file to match the original name (eg gp38.cvf) - backup the original first
or
edit the .eng file and change the cabview ( xxx.cab) to the cabview you want.
If you have done this correctly then the copy you have may not have copied the correct cvf file. When you unzipped the folder there should have been some replacement cvf files... Did you find those? The path statements are not correct in the original which is why you don't see the new cab.
