Hi Everybody

Thanks for stopping by. These are cab shots from our locomotive, which we are currently building. Were still not finished in the cabs yet. Indeed we intend to raise the bar very high. Our engineers are as we speak still testing and refining them in one of the hottest places on the planet. It's thirsty work but we intend to build you one of the finest locomotives for Microsoft Train Simulator.

Our aim is to build the world's finest locomotives with the world's finest people indeed we have a fantastic team assembled from the USA, UK, Australia and China. It's been a privilege to work with them, their great people. We really are an international team so we will be developing models for Microsoft Train Simulator from all over the world.

Engineers are you ready!

I really like the addition of the right hand window. It adds the perception of depth!

Kind of reminds me of the growth and advancement of Flightsim panels! :D

It looks wonderful!

Kevin, I would be careful about claiming that this picture 'raises the bar' - you might have TA, 3D trains, Mark Toland, ChrisTrains and a horde of European cab designers on your tail. It is after all only a rendered picture not displayed through the MSTS interface. All of the people or teams listed above have done some brilliant work in 3D cab design. I think people should reserve judgement about whether it 'raises the bar' until it is actually working in MSTS.

Congratulations to the team developing this image and good luck with the overall project. I see another quality product on the horizon.

after second thoughs and talking in the chat room, i have to agree Sam. It was just a first reaction but it will be interesting to see what happens and to see what you'll come up with next.

Sam, I totally agree with you. The cab looks great, but as you've said, how will it display in MSTS?

Wow! I've never seen a hybrid desktop/standard control stand before, its usually either one or the other. Beautiful work, I've really been pining for a correct view/angle on MTS standard control stands , looks like my patience is paying off.

How can you make the dimensions in the programm ? Is it possible to make a 1024x768 3D-window ?????

WOW did some digging in the cab forum and I found this awesome hybrid desktop/standard cab. How can I get my hands on this? Is it in the file library?

As you can tell by the dates on the messages, we have not heard another word since March....

>>>Edit for Spelling-Grammer<<<
In case you guys didn't notice it was probably Vaporware!
Mr. Lunn and "the best developers on earth" have been the subject of several critical posts on this forum over this very same probably "non-existent" product!
BTW, very nice Ray Trace rendering....
Too Bad it was never translated into the sim....
We were waiting to see if he could do it as we and a lot of others could not do so at the time. Don't you think if this was really possible with other than a Cray driving it (and lots of us development types have systems w/CPUs over 2GHz and literally a gig or two of memory and 128mb GF4 or ATI equivalent Video cards ) that we wouldn't have.... Its a year later and we still haven't been able to build one like this for practical use in the game, neither has Train Artisan or 3DTrains or 3DTrainStuff or Maple-Leaf Tracks or Mad-Mike or Chris Longhurst (Chris Trains) to name a few. Is Mr.Lim that much smarter than ALL the rest of us???? I don't think so... Is/was he trying to perpetrate a fraud or deception of some kind or other??? Your guess is as good as mine!

Whoops...sorry to piss everybody off, I didn't know this cab was the subject of so much controversy...I'll try to be more careful in the future.

Yeah Chuck, but that is Kyle, not that Stewie with his multiple Phd's.

MarcusJ

Aw I had my hopes up that that was going to be on MSTS or MSTS 2? You never know...that -MAY- be the cab of a MSTS 2 loco.

chucksc

True!
Maybe he "stole" Stewie's designs and ideas! Not!
I half expected to see some wild accusations from Stew when he posted his picture....
ROFLMAO...

Mean while back to tilting with windmills (err. rivet counters who never built anything and are currently lecturing me on ENG file physics! Braking to be exact)....
Oh well, it breaks up the monotony!

Hi Chuck
Talking of braking, I cant get the hang of your new system, it seems to be all on or all off. Can you drop me a line on how it should work.

chucksc

nothing new about it bob... works just like the schedule 24 prototype non-self lapping brakes from the 30s/40s/50s.... what you do is move the lever to apply and watch the trainline pressure go down to where you want it... pushing the handle further into apply makes the train line pressure go down faster... when it is where you want it then move the handle to hold.... when you want to release the brakes move the handle to release (quick release on a passenger train) and after they brake release move the handle to off or idle.... (I forget which its called).....
OK? Let me know if you need any further help!

Thanks Chuck, I finally figured it while playing around with the Challenger physics and running in view 2 to observe the engine, with F5 up to watch the figures.

Pardon me, but has anyone noticed that 50 degrees C = 122 degrees Fahrenheit? With 95% humidity, who or what would be able to stand such conditions? That's equatorial jungle.

I seem to detect a leg or two being pulled.
