Horn Recordings.

I have several recordings of horns over the past 2-3 months, I don't know how helpful they would be as you would need to filter out the background sound, but they are very clear, if interested, i'll upload some more to my e-group at:

I'd be interested in them. I kinda got this horn thing down now,

Are there any straightforward sites or places to get advice on editing/prepping WAV audio horn files for MSTS so looping, etc is possible? I don't know much but would like to learn something about basic WAV editing (also SMS in general). Any help or advice would be heavily appreciated...

Horn recorings for this game must be recorded on locomotives that ARE NOT moving. If something is moving at you at a rate of speed, it will sound higher pitch than normal, thats how the doppler affect works. Also, the blast must be relatively constant so the markers can be added and it will loop well.

I'm listening to that UP3130.wav file that you have up on your site..Have the sound mostly down, but the sheer intensity of the blast and the echo in the background make my ears want to ring!

LAST EDITED ON Feb-23-02 AT 10:00PM (EST)[p]wow..i tried to make that soundfile into the horn for one of my trains, just by cutting the sounds before and after the first blast, thinking the sound would cut off as soon as i let go of the spacebar (it is kind of impressive on an SD80). Oopsie. NOW i know what they mean by 'cues' and all that...just what type of horn IS that one anyway?
