Based on the number of traction topic messages posted in the month of May and the number of individuals who wanted to see a traction forum made available, Nels Anderson agreed to create this Traction Forum. I see this forum as a place to discuss things unique to traction modeling. For those in other countries, I believe our term "traction" is your term "tram". I see the term traction to include streetcars both city and interurban, possibly some freight operations. Our forum can benefit from any topic relating to electric railroading, however. I would like to see this forum become the primary showcase for traction projects that different individuals are involved in. Maybe hearing about works in progress will encourage some to become active in creating projects of their own.

I want to thank those who responded to my post and expressed interest in having a traction forum. I am looking forward to seeing this forum work for the traction community.

Great! A forum to call your own. Have fun! :) "Traction" would include trolleys, wouldn't it? I've got about 6 MSTS things on my plate right now, but my future plans would include early (late 1800's - early 1900's) trolleys in the shore towns of southern New Jersey.

Andrew:

Yes, trolleys are definitely included. Basically, the forum is for electric railroading.

Well, In the spirit of Traction and stuff... Where's the guy who was doing a PCC streetcar? I'd love to see that in TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) paint!

Freight is the center-of attraction on my route I'm s-l-o-w-l-y abuilding. I bought TSM because I needed some PRL&P-built Steeplecabs and some of their unique equipment. So, it'll be a long time coming. So, YES! There will be interurban freight featured:

So, A big thank you to Nels and you for pushing this forum. Good Luck to all traction fans!
