The new UP Big Boy broke down on it's initial trial tests on the Duluth, Mesabe & Northern, and look what they sent to rescue it:

In real life, the DM&N (later DM&IR) bought the Yellowstones, a 2-8-8-4 that had more power than a Big Boy.
