Hi all,

With the boom of MSTS traction, it would be interesting to see just how much traction there is out there. I'm asking people to post pics of their traction models and repaints. This all came about ewhen I tried to set up an activity with a yard full of traction alone. Well, I got quite lost and realised how much there is around! Here are the cars that I have released or am close to releasing...

Mesaba Electric No 10. This car is almost finished, I am currently trying to build proper hi-res cabviews with animated controls

Milwaukee Electric 1100 car. The first one out! Since updated with better shape files.

Milwaukee Electric 1100 car No 1117. Ready to upload; I'm just awaiting some historical info about the interior colours before I package it and send it off.

Speedrail 60 series car. Uploaded, and about to be improved with an upload of better shape files.

Lehigh Valley Traction - Easton Limited car. Almost ready to go, just have to package it and upload.

Open 10-bench single truck 'breezer'. Fictional colour scheme. This car is nearly done, I'll have to do a cabview, fix the .eng file, read and apply the bounding box fixes and see about sounds. The trailer version of this car will be uploaded in a few days, as there are no 'motorisation' problems here!

Another fictional repaint of the breezer. Trailer will be uploaded shortly, motor a bit later on. Not also that the trailers have different numbers from the motors, and different body details.

This one is posted for Tim's benefit. Hey Tim, remember Portland 4007? Well, I haven't forgotten it, and it should be ready soonish! For everyone's benefit, this car is a Cincinnati Curveside car...only with straight sides! It seems that Cincy Car Co built a few of these as well as the curvesides. It is double ended and sits higher than the other Cincy lightweights shown above. Don't worry, I'll fix the doors and I hope to release it soon, after talking with Tim about colours.

Well there is my little contribution. I still have a few cars not to this stage, as there are alot of demands on my time and a few problems to overcome. I'm working on articulated cars as well, and have three underway (slowly!). These are a Milwaukee heavyweight duples, a modern Sheffield (UK) LRV and a certain unnamed Midwestern articulated vehicle of 1941, which has Milwaukee connections! I'll leave that one to surprise people, although it is popular and I bet a few people know exactly what I'm talking about!

Cheers,
Matt A

What a cool parade, Matt!

Well, I'm going to keep it short. My 'Traction Shortcake' will have scenes around the carbarns.
First is a scene looking east alongside the carbarn office and employee clubhouse, with three McGuire-Cummings Snowsweepers to the left, A Re-painted Milwaukee 1100 into Portland Electric Power Colours, a couple of the Brill Semi-Convertible, another Milw1100 re-paint as a boxmotor, and more Brill Semi's.
Second pic is alongside the carbarns on the east end looking south. A collection of Freight motors.
Last photo is of the PRL&P Boxmotor I never got around to finishing!

Well, I gotta get to bed.

Have Fun!

Tim

Nice shots, Tim. These pics show what I've never tried; carbarns. Good stuff. I'd better get off my behind and finish that motor interior...

My latest pic is after 25 minutes of work with the breezer. It still has plenty of work to be done, but shouldn't take too much effort. I've promised myself not to start any new cars until I've finished what I've got underway, but this is too good to let up (along with the saloon car to come!). Well, this sprinkler car will help keep some of that virtual dust down!

That sprinkler vaguely looks like a TMERL - fourwheeler - sprinkler! That's cool and I can't wait to see the finished product!

And don't worry about the boxmotor interior, Matt. I've totally forgot about it until this string started and I went through my consists and there she was. I'm planning on building the MtHood Railway's GC Kuhlman Boxmotor, now that I've found all the major dimensions and interior photos. Plus it gives me an added incentive to re-visit the OERHS museum to study the 1191 there, or rather what's left of it!

Dick,

Thanks for your comments! I am really trying to capture that atmosphere you're talking about on my route.

Cheers!

Tim
