Here is a little inspiration for the traction route builders out there.
Were approaching Yarmouth Station on the L&PS on the late night run.

I can almost hear the crickets! Very nice, Wayne! Your route certainly will have lots of atmosphere. It also puts the bee in my bonnet to make the Edison-era street and way lights I've been thinking about.
Cheers!

How did you do that light at night? That looks great.

The light comes with MSTS and is called JP1Streelight1.s. It casts a cone shaped ring of light. You will find though that it doesn't actually illuminate anything - even an object in its cone of light will be dark. This is just the way MSTS works. There is a trick however in 3D Canvas to make an object 'glow in the dark' ( set specularity to 0 ). Knowing that the stop shelter was going to be positioned under this light, I set the two sides facing the light to specularity 0 so they would appear illuminated. The insides of the shelter are also set this way so it looks like the insides are lit.
Hope this helps.
Wayne
