#2 is the famous "Red Train", The Alton Limited. Stops only at a small number of stations. Takes priority over ALL trains, ALWAYS holds the main...
#7/#8 "The Midnight Special"...overnight mail/express with sleeper car between St. Louis and Chicago... These trains are getting close to their end-terminals in this session...
#9 "The Puddlejumper" (nickname)... gas-electric all-stops local passenger/mail/express Bloomington to Kansas City via Jack Line. This activity has LOTS of AI activity on junction or overhead passes..NO online AI's... In a word, "bucolic"...
#16 "The Plug" GM&O's 3-car "daily ex. Sunday" morning commuter service from Joliet to Chicago Union Station.
Psgr. Extra 880B South is a special all-stops passenger train from Chicago to the Illinois State Fair in Springfield! Train has to be turned and backed to the station after unloading at Springfield....
#90-series: LONG Freight drags, Glenn Yard (Chicago) to Kansas City and vice-versa...a real challenge to keep them moving at track speed, especially west of Roodhouse!
Extra trains are coal (loads or empties) or the northbound steel train....
I would welcome a "shooter" train using a couple of GP's with 10-20 pigs Glenn to Venice, perhaps a run-through train....train would be considered "priority second class" with right over all second class (freights) and third class (locals) trains.
Mark up by responding to this message thread indicating the train you want. I can help with any consist/equipment problems.... "Visiting detour trains" ARE welcome but must be 1960's vintage equipment!!!
