Folks:
If you call a session, please show up! More importantly, show up on time!!! If you need to change, drop, or re-schedule please make a post in this forum so people are informed.
Tonight I sat for 35 minutes listening for the Bridge Line session that was called for 1900 CDT. Dispatcher didn't show up until 1945!!!
In the model railroad world this would get you "un-invited" from pretty much every operating railroad....
With this in mind, I would like to suggest the following guidelines for calling multi-player sessions:
1) The person calling the session is expected to follow through and keep the forum advised of any changes, etc.
2) The person calling the session is expected to dispatch their own session unless specifically designating another operator to that position. (That does NOT preclude the DS from running a train of his/her own!)
3) If the person calling the session does not show for their own session the forum moderator will take the following action(s):
a) first occurence: warning
b) second occurence: sessions will be included in the monthly calendar but a caveat will be attached to the session regarding previous no-show.
c) third occurence: no further sessions will be included on the calendar until at least two session have been successfully completed by the caller...
d) fourth occurence: future session will not be allowed to be posted on the forum and will be removed by the moderator.
4) Please bear in mind that people MAY be online waiting for your session. If you are late, or know that you have other plans that may make you late, please post a message in the forum...
My goal is to encourage people to take part in our multi-player sessions. When people don't show up for their mark-ups it sends a message to others who may be observing that we aren't really serious about doing this. Let's all try to work together to BUILD this aspect of the hobby!
Thanks!
