View Full Version : Where are the Turnouts (switches)?

I must have a very steep learning curve.... where are the switches located in Surveyor?? I have laid all kinds of track and scenic items but can't locate the switches???? HELP!

There are no Switches.. You make them yourself by placing a new track ..off of an exsisting track from the spline..

Don't forget to add a switch stand or it won't throw.

Track tab, Trackside button, drop down list choose "lever".
If the switch is thrown the wrong way use the rotate button and click on it. The lever goes to the other side too, tho.

Thanks... that's what I really needed to know. It's a little tricky to get smooth radius turnouts. How many spline points do you find yourself using?

lots... all depends but as Bo says " Splines are a mans best friend" :)

4 splines in a 90 degree curve: 2 at the beginning and end of the curve and two in the middle at the 30 and 60 degree points of the curve.

You can use more if you want to do easements.
