New screens about Rüdiger Hülsmann's Berlin U1/U15 underground project under developement are available on http://home.t-online.de/home/r.hulsmann/

The site has been updated a few days ago, but nobody has already spotted here.

Of the several aspects focused by BVE underground developers, I have to say that Ruede's lights effects on rail's surfaces are really surprising. Third rail layout in this double crossing is terrific too:

Great pictures! I have just had a look at his U-Bahn Demo route's rails. I've notice, the rail are actually .bmps! Like schiene_reflektion.bmp!
If only he made the third rails have this light effect too...

Hi!
There's a simple reason for it:
Actually, all you can see is the (usually plastic, tin or wooden) cover to protect the third rail, which is, so to speak, hidden underneath. Therefore, the contact surface is at the bottom of the third rail and so there is nothing to look shiny...
It looks like this:

Well, wouldn't at least it wouldn't be shiny, but a bit brighter under the light?

Okay, you've got me...;-)
But still, it would be a lot of work to create that effect for all the objects in the tunnel, especially the third rails. Since there are 3 lights every 25 meters but each third-rail object is 5m long, I'd have to create several B3Ds just to use them at only one single place within these 25m, to make the effect look right.
So I decided to stick to the halo on the ceiling and the reflections on the rails.

Rüdiger

Wow, these screenshots look amazing! I loved the U-Bahn demo route and was wondering when another route was coming out. Excellent lighting affects, I'm gonna have to modify my track objects to have textured rails.

Apologies for the drag but it's only two days...

I agree, textured rails do make it look better. The Piccadilly has been updated to include textured rails :

Hi,

I thought there is a difference by the two types of U-Bahn in Berlin:
Gross Profil strike from the undersite like in your picture
Klein Profil strike on the uppersite (Oberfläche)
