View Full Version : Bandwidth and Crossposting...

I've been reading the messages that have accumulated now and before
the forum was dropped the other day by accident, and I think some
clarification is in order. Hopefully this might put out any still
smoldering embers left over from the closure of the BVE forum on
Crotrainz.

Bandwidth and crossposting (answering one message in the forum
within another) are not major concerns on this forum. We want you
to post as many topics as you want as long as the subject the
message remains BVE-related. I don't know how Barney and Vern ran
thier forum but this isn't theirs, it's ours. The things that
are likely to irritate the mods here are foul language, not
acting professionally, flame wars, trolling and other activities
that disturb other members use of the forum.

There are time on these forums where it almost seems like a live
chat, with people replying to each other almost as soon as a message
is posted. There are times when traffic is down, especially as the
weather gets nicer. But forum will always be here as long as you
guys use it.

You're not obligated to read all the posts. If there's something you
don't like, usually it will go away faster if it's ignored. This is
especially true for the occasional Troll that will log on and
leave messages just to see what kind of reaction they will get. This
is an international website, and it does get all types. :) But that's
one of the forums strengths as well!

I noticed today that we've already passed the number of topics on
the Trainmaster forum. I wonder if we can pass the MSTS forum by
the end of the year? Just wondering. :)

And this bothers you why? I'd really like to get to the bottom
of this issue over Anastrainsimforum2002.

Yeh always remember, this isnt vern and barney's forum. Its got compltetely different and far more lenient rules, which you should all appreciate. BVE is always a popular forum on message boards, and on crotrainz the BVE section grew far more popular thatn MSTS and other forums, so I think there is a strong chance that BVE will takeover MSTS, especially now that people can upload BVE files here.

I just can't get for a second why it is always me that people blame me for. Why?

A tip - don't post every single little bit of news that you have - other wise you'll get flamed (again) for posting too much.
People are showing concern that this forum could join crotrainz in the Great BVE Forum In The Sky, thats why they don't want a whole page of your topics that just focus on one tiny little bit of news.

I don't think its personal,in the main, but if you keep going, it will be. The ill feeling would be towards whoever was clogging up pages worth of board. Take a chill pill, and throttle back a bit with the posts, for your own sanity and well being!

Anas, I would recommend until the route is released that you limit
posting about it to once a day or once a week. That would at least
show people you're trying to take them seriously.
