Lovely! :-) I can see why people say it looks nothing like it, but they've never been in the cab looking straight on have they.

From What I eemmber about the section of Line
it looks remarkebly familiar..

I assume the acreenshot is at East Croydon?

My only point is that as I recall the area is slightly
more built up.. But then that's just my memory of the
place...

(BTW Are you doing a period route?- I note the southern Green MKI
?-SUB in the other platform :-)

Remember to credit for obejcts used :-)

A LOT MORE BUILT UP!!!

I suppose ethis is a work in progress shot, you can even see trams and the giant glass canopy station from the platform!

Keep at it though tracks look good! :)

Erm Not if you're facing North on the London Platform
prior to the rbeuilding work which took place in the early 1990's

I don't know when the DEV video's footage was taken
as I don't have the video..

The ?-SUB in shot on the screenie suggests to me that
unless Nathan is building a 'period' version, the DEV
footage MAY have been orignally taken before the
rebuilding work..

Nathan, I'm giving you right of reply here...

Hi sorry folks, didn't think anyone would view the screeny so I left off. Yes its more built up, and WIP, The SUB is there becuase I couldn't be bothered to look for another train to put there instead!

Trackwork is complete, absoultely complete. I am just building the area up, and as you have all mentioned it is remarkably built up, however a lot of overgrowth can be seen from the cab!

So before I go any further, are any of you wanting a period run, and if so what period would you like?

Cheers for the comments/constructive critisisms and encouragement. I shall continue!!

OK. So it's a preserved unit making a vist..
Although not in passnager service! Mk I stock
and demed unsafe long before that..

Track layouts done with the assistance of Quail:5
by any chance? (Include a credit acknoweldging the

Periods suitable for an East Croydon-Victoria Route
(NB All need differing reaseaches to get a 'perfect' route.)

1890(?)
LBSCR Original ( Although this may have gone to London Bridge)

1930
'Summer Comes Soonest in the South'- Southern Railway c 1930
Mixture of both steam loco hauled and EMU.

1960's- Heyday of BR type EMU's. Perfect for the 4-CIG
Plenty of post war-Southern region type EMUS around.

1992 - NSE Liveries, (NB This is just post the glazing')
Might see a Thameslink 319(?) at peak.

2002 - South Central Trains...

Nathan I also have an idea for a 'fictional' route you may wish
to consider.

As a result of Beeching the OXted line service ends up at
East Grinstead and Uckfield instead of continuing onto Lewes
as it did previously..

However there have often been studies or plans by groups
to re-open the line between Lewes and Uckfield or indeed
Lewes and East Grinstead.

I therfore have two possible routes you may wish to consider
both fictional (although the fisrt slightly more plausible
then the second.)

2007- The Bluebell Railway has extneded itself to both East Grinstead
Northward and Lewes Southward. Lewes - Bluebell isn't
the same station as Lewes NR owing to concerns about entry
into the town. The full name of the Bluebell station is thus Lewes
'Clife' station in full Souther Region totem :-)

In additon to the tourist services an early type preserved
Class 201 DEMU opearates a 'commuter' service to East Grinstead
where passnagers transfer to an Oxted Line service opearted by
Meridian Trains ( The Southern Franschise having been re-franchised
from it's current holder.. The South Western franchise remainng
with SWT/Stagecoach)

The 201 is the only concession made to the Bluebells usual Steam
only policy....

1992 - (POD Oxted not closed by Beeching but upgraded substainaly
during the 1970's as an alternative international route to the
busy London Brighton mainline.)

It's a summer day and you are distinctly pleased to be in charge of
a Holdiay Excursion service that started it's journey from all the
way up in Manchester...

Your duty covers the portion of the trip from Waterloo all the
way to Brighton. You are booked via the Oxted line in order to
avoid delaying Commuter services on the Gatwick main line.
Besides Oxted is more senic and will allow
you to ease of compared to the normaly tight schedules of commuter
trains you encounter normally.

Climbing aboard the cab of an APT-Europa(Class 372)
power car ('Brittania') You wonder if the Dual Voltage
+DEMU train wil form the basis for the Channel Tunnel Stock
currently under consideration. It's certainly different
from the HST dervied Class 244 'Dragons' that
your contacts tell you Paddington's just introduced.
Power car+8 cars+DVT just fits into the Platform.
It's obvious that
the Channel service will start in the next few years as
Waterloo International's constrcution nears completion..
to your right.

You were informed whilst booking on that there is some
overunning enginerring work on the line just south of Clapham
but this should cause no major delays..

You also notice a handwritten notice from Control about
'loose' fencing trackside coming into Horsted Keyens.

Willing to attempt either of those routes Nathan?

Esp as 2.5 gives you greater limits to play with..

I'm sure if you asked someone at the Blubell Railway
might have some useful track diagrams..

Provided credits are given where there due..

BTW Nathan, Do you still have the details for the
Mableton and Seabury? There were on Crotrainz and
as such still an open idea..
