I have been trying to install Railroad Tycoon 3, I get about half way, then I get a message saying that the file Data2.cab is corrupt. Any ideas on what I should do?

Good news/bad news. Good news, I am happy to hear someone else is having the same problem, sort of. My install froze when loading "southeastUSA.gmp" Had error for setup/data2.cab, data error cyclic redundancy check. I when to www.gathering.com to find some troubleshooting advise and found out that my 1-1/2 year old computer is too old now and my DVD-ROM doesn't read the CD correctly. I not sure exactly why but something to do with copyright stuff, or anti-piracy. They recommended a couple of setting changes for IDE secondary devices, (which I set wrong and didn't help, so read the directions closely!) They also said for cyclic thing, if you are having that prob, the firmware for your CD-ROM drive is outdated and needs to be updated. But updating firmware seemed to be a diffilcult and dangerous process. Bad news, I lucked out because I got a CD burner from Santa and because it was a new, I guess, I got the game to install no problem! Unless you are going to install a new drive it sounds like it will be pain in the a** to install this game! Hope this helps, Happy Holidays!!!
