I edit the skins, use the TrainSkin tool, its says successfully loaded into the game, so I start the game, select the engine & new paint scheme, BOOM, rt3.exe has ecountered a problem and needs to close, in other words the computers universal middle finger. Anyone know why these skins MAY NOT WORK, and yes, there are no spaces in the file names. Checked that.

I'm sure you can get all the help you need over at the Railroad Tycoon forum at my place.
There's a group of skinners that hang out there. They also do some serious game modding too. ;-) They've already produced one "UnOfficial" patch and are working on a second.
Due to security reasons, registration is required to post in the forums but the rest of my site is available registration free and there's a bunch of maps ready for your enjoyment, as well as some new logos and locos. :-)
