We never get the Thunderbirds up here in Canada

Too Bad as the 16's are nice to watch fly

25 years of The Snowbirds and I'm gettin bored

They are always last for all Airshows, which is nice becuase I can beat the parking lot rush while they are doing their thing !!

Yeah, the Thunderbirds (and Blue Angels)are a blast to watch. They do tour other countries, but I dont know if Canada is on their list...
I would really like to see the Snowbirds too. They have more planes and less powerful ones, but I hear the demonstration they put on is incredible.

Have a nice day :-)

I watched 2 documentary's last year back to back. The first was on The Snowbirds - the second was The Blue Angels"

Now The Snowbirds are good, but those Hornets blow them out of the water as far as overall flying goes

I've never seen anything on The Thunderbirds, so I can't say where they'd fit into the mix. BUT take one of the most versatile combat aircraft such as he F-16 and put it with a few skilled pilots I would have to imagine that their show blows The Snowbirds out of the water too !!

Nice pictures! Does the Shockwave Jet Powered truck show up at your airshows? That thing is a blast to watch :D
I like the shot of the Heritage flight too; last year's show in RI had an F-16 and a P-51, and one a couple years back had an F-86 Sabre flying the demonstration. Sweet stuff!

Have a nice day :-)

Along with the F-16/P-47 demo, there was a second heritage flight with an F/A-18 Hornet and an FJ-4 Fury. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a good shot of the formation (at least not until they landed :P ). To my knowledge, we've never gotten the Jet Truck (at least not since I started attending the NAS Kingsville/Corpus Christi airshows in 1999).

Good to see the Concorde again. A shame she won't fly again.

Has anyone in here ever actually flown Jetblue?

The Thunderbirds and Blue Angels put on basically the same show, but I like the "Blues" better. The F-18s (along with Fat Albert and the JATO packs) are AWESOME! I haven't seen them in a while, though--have they gone to the Super Hornets yet (can't really tell from the pics)?

NWFreak

Nope, they look like F-18A's or C's :-) You can sorta tell a Super Hornet and regular Hornet apart by looking at their wings; Super Hornets (F/A-18E's F's) have a broader wing with an angled trailing edge, and regular Hornets have a straighter trailing edge and narrower wing.

Oh yeah, that Fat Albert on takeoff with JATO is LOUD LOL!

Have a nice day :-)

You haven't heard Loud till you've experienced a Tu-160 "Blackjack" take-off. (Note: The Tu-160 is the russian counterpart to the US B1B, only larger, faster and LOUDER)

That thing is LOUD

Alternatively, a formation take off by two Su-27 Flankers is an ample substitute.

Experienced everything mentioned above during a number of air shows in the mid-nineties in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, I never saw the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds.

They also have the square air intakes vs the smaller, rounder ones of previous Hornets. I believe the older ones are being updated to the newer style intakes anyway.

I would really love to see foreign aircraft at an airshow, unfortunately, we dont get any around here :-(

Hey, wow, where was this airshow? It looks similar to the one put on by the Rhode Island NG a couple weeks ago!
Dont mind if I post some pics too?
(Got your F-14 here, Mike! Wow, that Tomcat put on one heck of a performance)
PS: Yes, that IS a B-2 Spirit! It wasn't part of the actual airshow, but it was flying somewhere else and the crew decided to make a couple flybys
Have a nice day :-)
