As someone who doesn't drive I'm amazed that you actually drove trucks that big. I suppose it's injury problems that prevent you from taking it up again.

Keep the pics coming, as we don't see things like that over here.

I'm sorry sir, it wasn't clear to me, do you drive one of those trucks, or all of them?

I use to drive for Hoffman (Blue Peterbilt) and Landair transport (White Frieghtliner). The others are ones I have taken at various locations.

Chris, of all the pictures you posted, I was especially drawn to the one of the LandAir docked at the building across from the power transformers (#11 from the top). I once trained as an OTR (Over The Road) driver, and as part of the training, I had to do a similar maneuver. I'll bet it took me a half hour to accomplish that. I think I was using a 48 foot trailer.

Chris
I have got to ask you, is Old Timer's still in business in Oswego(In case anybody else wants to know it's a truck stop). I used to haul aluminum to Alcan all the time and that place didn't look like a lot, but they had some of the best food in there. They also had a bar on the side (good for those cold nights).
I haven't been there in about 14 years. Staying busy on the southern side of things (farming and trucking).
By the way "krispy Kreme" rules. :-)

Got it in on the first try with a 53 footer :-). It's not square to the dock, but as you can see, I used all the room I had, so thats as square to the dock as it was going to get.

I havn't seen much of Oswego since moving here. I pretty much go up through town on 481, the eastern side of the river, and the store is a block east of there. Havn't seen much of the town itself on the other side of the river, but from the looks of things, its looks like Oswego has seen some work done to it over the last decade or so, so I would have to say the old hole in the wall is probally gone by now.

Have any of you seen The Golden Age of Trucking Museum?

The Golden Age of Trucking Museum

They have a great collection of trucks, mostly from the 50's, and a couple of beautiful old wooden boats.
