You CSX railfans, let me ask you a question. Why would a CSX train be going through a BNSF sub line in South Dakota. The lead unit was a SD70mac # 4781 and the trailing unit was a BNSF c40-8w # 814. I thought maybe the BNSF was being lent a CSX locomotive but when i kept watching, all the covered hoppers where csxt and family line systems. This is really strange for my area in particular since it technically is a branch line. Just thought id let some of you know what just went by my house.

Talk about wierd, for the past couple of months I've been seeing Montana rail link engines with BNSF and I live in southeast Missouri. One day I'll be outside with my camera and will get a picture since I live less than a block from the tracks

You guys are lucky. The coolest thing we saw around here was when a Housatonic GP35, CSX GP38, and CSX B36-7 pulled a 52 car circus train to Danbury, CT

There has been a bunch of odd-ball stuff here lately. SD45-2's, GP40X's, GP60's, GP60M's, etc. But we get a lot of odd run through power. Like yesterday there was a CN Dash 9. We've seen CSX, NS, KCS, CP, CN, IC, SSW, Rio Grande, MRL, SP, UP, BN, ATSF, BNSF, Conrail, Soo, and TFM. But that is some odd power to see in the midwest. I'm guessing run-through or BNSF just slapped that engine on the train because it was avalible.
