Here is an example of the kind of graphics you can expect from KUJU and using the latest graphics technology and cards should perform as well as those of the best of games.

They look nice but I wonder about some of those configurations.I should be interested to know where the prototypes are.

Many similar to these are still being used in parts of European countries and also in preservation routes here in the U.K., where there are many of them, I think these were modeled on !

They are British signals. Germany and the rest of Europe had different oens.

Nice models. Are these from Kuju, Otto? I didn't see these on their site.
Cheers!

Hi Otto and Sebastian,I think you miss my point;the graphics are great but the actual configuration of arms is in a couple of cases, questionable and you do not need the "diamond" sign on a distant signal because you do not have to stop at a distant signal. It means the signal is track circuited (going back to the good old days when not many were) and was also known as a "Rule 55 exemption sign" which meant the driver did not have to remind the signalman that he was detained at the signal (because it was at danger)unless he was detained "an unusually long time".Kuju are not getting good prototype advice.LBE has a similar error with speed restriction signs.

Yes Peter, I am not as versed in signaling as you are but seem to remember from way back when there were no other but mechanical signals that there was a great variety of them in Europe and looking at this, even more in the States, each railway company having their own versions: http://www.carrtracks.com/sspicndx.htm
Can not see how KRS can provide accurate ones for each country and railways company unless they produce a different Train Simulator for each ! ;-)
I think the aim is to produce 2 versions for the major train simulator markets, being Europe and North America and no matter which they choose there will be some comments !

Otto,
From reading the thread I don't these are in-game shots.
Sabrina's comment implies artist rendering like a ray-trace picture.

They are not in-game shots. Don't think that there is a route with signals lined up like that ! ;-)
They are their artists renderer files, says Sabrina, which I presume are samples of what they will use to make them look like that in KRS.
Don't think that they will show us something which is then not the same in the finished sim ?

Don't want to be negative but this only shows us that they have a good graphics renderer. It tells us nothing of the simulation or how good the graphics will be.So far the same for everything, all great graphics in a graphic program.

Hi Frank !
Have another look here: http://www.railsimulator.com
and check out the "Wallpaper", which will give you an idea what the applied graphics will look like.
There is also an impressive video of their new track-laying tool !
http://www.railsimulator.com/en/Track%20Tool%20Video.htm
I think that all you can read there will give you a feel of what is in the offing, apparently convincing others to pull out of the race ! ;-)

The track tool is the closest they have come to anything in game and all the wallpapers are all graphic renderings. They are impressive pictures but thats all they are until they show us in game shots that look the same.I know that you have been completely assimilated Otto as Kuju seems to be your borg and they have pulled you into the collective but I'm not so easy.

Hi Frank !
I am not completely assimilated nor completely convinced until I see some real samples of in-game scenes, in particular what actual switches will look like and how they animate !
But what I do know about KUJU, evident by a rushed to the marked MSTS and their other efforts in the gaming sector, convinces me, as it apparently does their financial investors, that they are up to the job of creating a superior to MSTS train simulator, or else why bother ? ;-)

I hope they are and look forward to a new sim if they release with North American content like has been hinted at.I hope everything that we hope for comes true.

I still believe in Santa Claus and good kids like this here 77 years old one usually getting what they are asking him for ! ;-)
