As a modeler one of my main concerns when a new platform is announced is will I be able to convert to the new platform and if so how.

I believe I read that 3D Canvas was going to be the supported modeling platform for Rail Simulator. I've done all of my work in Gmax. I definitely don't want to get into the pros and cons of the different modeling platforms. What I'm really looking for is someone with the capability (which I don't have) of perhaps finding a work around solution for taking the Gmax models into 3D Canvas for conversion/import into the next rail simulator that becomes available to us in the US.

Hi Ron !

From what I read on their web site and this thread:

http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?t=55923&sid=ce71fcde6149208be130746db40834bb

it is 3DS MAX KUJU use to create objects for KRS with, also making use of the new AGEIA PhysX graphics processor.

GMAX comes from the same stable as the 3DS MAX and think that everything you have created with GMAX should be compatible without the need to convert via 3D-CANVAS, graphics experts among use may want to comment on ? ;-)

I'd add conversion of TSM source into .3dc (or directly into KRS) as a very valuable feature.
