Well most of us know 3D-TrainStuff as a pretty good outfit. Other than that, there was little said, so we still await a good look at this new "toy". Maybe early next year or ------????.

Jerry,
You must have missed the statement concerning dynamic weather for the simulaltor. That will be a big plus for it--real time weather. I think teaming up with 3dtrainstuff was a foreseeable prospect since 3dtrainstuff also has a work group in England. They will certainly have a heads up on the differences of the English language between the two sides of the Atlantic.
I would also think that would imply a western American rail route since 3dtrainstuff has been all about California--Tehachapi, Donner Pass, and Cajon Pass. It would make sense to allow them to do what they know best and have the most experience and background materials. What route has not been done that exists in California--what about Donner Pass from Roseville to the summit or maybe all the way to Reno.
What about the San Francisco bay area. I question whether mountain railroading may have passed its zenith for trainsim--a lot of hours on the road without much action. For work that is a necessity, for pleasure it can get to be boring. I think it would be great to get a route with a lot of spurs and sidings along with some great scenery--the San Francisco bay area would provide both--right at home for 3dtrainstuff. I think that area could even combine the SP/UP with ATSF/BNSF. Some guys out there might have a better idea.
However, there is nothing that Kuju has said indicating anything about a route in western US--just my thoughts on what might be a possibility.

There was no attachment to my last comment. I don't even know how that got placed there.

I haven't followed the updates very closely. Is the Leipzig video clip new, or has it been around for a while? In any case, I was a bit distressed to see one section (with the steam loco crossing a bridge) where the wheels are significantly higher than the rails. That was a common irritant with MSTS as well. On the other hand, the clips of route construction were very interesting and appear to provide additional flexibility regarding route development, at least in some ways.

Yes it has been around for a few months.

The route construction tools are quite similar to those used in Trainz. From my experience with Trainz, I can tell you that it will be rather easy to build your own world.

This week I'm finishing the last gap in the mainline for SLW's CAL-P project -- The SP main between Oakland California and Sacramento, .ca 1950.

Hey Dave,
Your route is looking great. Are those tumbleweeds on left side of the track in that one photo? The dry weeds look very good for the areas around the bay. Your bridge work is tremendous and the bay color looks outstanding. I'm looking forward to your route coming out.

Coyote bush and ordinary green weeds (both photo images to .ace); the bridge is from Ron Picardi - special for the project; water... water is a problem in MSTS because you only get one set of .ace files for the entire route. This one looks great on a big river but bad on small ones. I'm hoping KRS gives us something better -- like if in MSTS you could assign water on a subtile by subtile basis as you do tertexes.

The route looks fantastic Dave. I cant wait till you are ready to release this as payware, So I can order myself a copy of the route on CD.
Hey Bob...Youre forgetting two major routes in California. Both of them are outside of Southern California and they are Beaumont Pass and Needles subdivision. From what I heard months ago, Someone was working on the Beaumont Pass route, But havent heard anything since then.
