Not far east of Wenatchee, Washington is a scenic location where the tracks of BNSF's Columbia River sub climb up from the river to the Columbia Basin floor near Quincy, WA. This involves the famous Trinidad Loop where trains double back in a coulee on a particularlly sharp corner. The corner is so sharp that every fourth tie has a steel plate that keeps the rails from spreading or rolling over. To see all the photos from the morning trip, go here;
